You might remember that exact moment when you realized fitness would be a way of life for you. For some of you, it may have been almost like a switch that turned on and you never turned it off. Maybe you don’t recall when it happened, you had always been an athlete and you just never stopped. For others, you might be just learning to love exercise and just learning to make it a part of your daily life. It’s that moment when you realize you feel so much better mentally and physically when you exercise regularly. Whatever stage you are in your exercise journey, just realize that making it a routine will help set up other daily healthy rituals along the way. Without good health, it is hard to enjoy all the things that life brings. You might recognize Tommy from the Fuel podium. He teaches Maxed Out every other Sunday.
Here is his take on that “ah-ha” fitness moment…
In 2012 my wife Anne-Marie began working out with Jeanne Carter, our neighbor at the time. Anne-Marie mentioned that I should join her at one of the upcoming classes. “No way,” I told her, “I will never do that, take a group fitness class.” “What are you, crazy?” she asked and convinced me to take a lass with her. After getting over my preconceived notions, I realized it wasn’t that bad and actually kind of fun. I started attending classes on a regular basis and was hooked.
After many years of being the only guy on the waterfront, here we are 9 years later. Now I can’t imagine not doing it. I enjoyed it so much that in 2014 I was hired as a fitness instructor at Fuel and have been teaching and taking classes ever since and no, now I am not the only guy. Now we have several!
