JULIE BOKAT is most passionate about helping women, men, and teens make fitness and healthy eating a part of their daily routine. She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to encourage and inspire the Fuel community daily. At the age of 15, Julie started running and exercising daily and has never stopped. For her, exercise has always been both a physical and mental experience. Most days, you can find Julie at Fuel personal training, teaching, and taking classes — or out running with her two dogs.

Julie is an AFAA certified personal trainer and spin instructor as well as a NASM certified nutrition coach and Design Your Life coach. She also teaches Boxing, Cycle Shred, Weight Lifting, Tabata, and various interval training classes.

What people don’t know about Julie is that she has her master of fine arts degree in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania.

JEANNE CARTER has been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years. She is an AFAA certified personal trainer, ACE certified group fitness instructor, Les MillsBody Training System certified, as well as being certified in Group Power. In addition to her private training, Jeanne teaches heavy bag boxing, indoor and outdoor boot camp, spin, dance, strength, tabatta and cardiovascular training. Along with Julie Bokat, Jeanne is co-owner of Fuel Training Studio and they have developed the Fuel Method of training. Jeanne also holds a degree in business, and has a 15 year background in ballet.
JESSIE REARDON is an ACE Certified Group Fitness instructor who has always led an active lifestyle. A college athlete, Jessie now stays active in a variety of ways, whether it’s playing basketball or soccer with her three kids in the yard, taking a cycle, maxed out or hip hop class, or even taking a flying trapeze class. Jessie’s classes are personal, energetic, and upbeat. While motivating and pushing you to your personal limits, she ensures her classes provide you with a safe, effective and FUN workout that will leave you coming back for more! Jessie is also available for personal and/or small group training, during which you can focus on more individualized goals and develop a long term fitness plan built on a cross training-based workout regime.

LORI BYRNES 

From a very young age, Lori fell in love with dance and exercise through Ballet.   After many years of enjoying all forms of movement she discovered Barre in 2012.  Lori became a Barre Instructor in 2015. When not teaching Barre, Lori manages her family’s Chiropractic Office. When not working, you can find her, along with her family & the kitties, loving & enjoying all that living on Plum Island has to offer! 

SHANNON HALEY grew up playing sports and has always found joy in group fitness classes! She finds such benefit in the opportunity to workout alongside others, the comradery it brings and above all the energy! Shannon joined Fuel back in 2015 while in college.

Shannon played field hockey in college and was a captain her senior year! Shannon loves to combine her passions of coaching and teaching with fitness. Shannon teaches 2nd grade in Newburyport and is the Varsity Field Hockey coach at Newburyport High School. She lives in Newburyport with her husband, Justin, and son Matthew.

MELISSA O’BRIEN has been a massage therapist and fitness instructor for over 24 years. Her love for health and nutrition has always been a priority throughout her life. She is passionate about motivating, inspiring and empowering people to achieve their wellness goals. Health coaching has become a passion of hers, helping clients with guidance and accountability to reaching a vibrant life, while cultivating positive health and lifestyle choices, along with behavior adjustments. Melissa’s mission is to be a supportive mentor who helps clients feel their best through food and lifestyle changes, while providing one-on-one encouragement and becoming an essential and integral part of clients overall health and well being.

LISA ANGELINI's life has always included fitness and health, whether it is to keep your weight, or positive attitude in check, a healthy lifestyle (80/20) is the main ingredient. Beginning her cheerleading career at the age of eight and continuing throughout college, her love to inspire and motivate was learned early on and remained a part of who she is. Lisa’s classes are energetic, upbeat and aim to push you out of your comfort zone, realizing you are far more capable than you thought!

RACHEL CARTER'S classes are bound to get your energy up, your booty shakin’, your arms pumpin’, and your sweat pourin’! Her goal is to inspire and push you to your limit, all while (hopefully) keeping a smile on your face.

REBECCA BOURQUE is passionate about health and fitness. Growing up she was an avid athlete playing basketball, field hockey and track. Rebecca first became part of the Fuel family in 2011 shortly after the birth of her daughter. As a client she fell in love with Fuel’s positive and supportive vibe and the dynamic and challenging workouts. Now a Fuel trained spin instructor she strives to bring an inspired and challenging workout to every rider.
TOMMY MURRAY is a former school administrator and teacher, who brings to training close to 20 years of experience working with both children and adults. His focus in teaching has always been student-centered and he takes the same approach when working with adults. As a trainer and instructor, he draws on his experience as a parent, an athlete, and desire to be active and adventurous to clearly understand the multi-level challenges we face to be active and physically fit. With the right opportunity, support, and focus, he believes anyone can get on the road to being fit for life. After all, life is easier when you are physically fit!
Jess Burke School Teacher by day spin instructor by night 😉 Jess found her passion as a fitness instructor a few years ago when her husband encouraged her to find out how to become a certified spin instructor. Jess always loved cycle classes and was an avid gym rat in her years prior to children. Post babies, Jess started getting back into fitness through running and accomplished goals such as running her first half marathon (which happened to be the last Fuel half marathon) and completing the insane Reach the Beach relays (a few times)! When she got back into group fitness classes she realized how much she loved the community vibe. A dancer and former athlete Jess has always loved to move. Whether it’s indoors or outside, or at a good dance party!!! 💃🏼 Throw off those lights, cue in the music and lights, and wait for the magic to happen! ♥️✨

Sarah Welch has been working in the wellness industry for almost 20 years.  Her goal is to help you find freedom and strength in your body so that it is a help and not a hindrance to your life.  She recognizes that strong bodies translate to strong minds, relationships and more joy in your life! 

She LOVES to celebrate people and encourage them on their journeys! Her love of wellness started at her first job at a wellness clinic in 2008.  This is where she began her own journey of fueling her body with nutrition and found a love of fitness!  She later co-founded a CrossFit gym with her husband, and coached there for 7 years as a Level 2 Instructor. 

Additionally, she is certified in Kettlebell training (CrossFit).  She has taught everyone from kids and collegiate athletes to adaptive athletes with the Special Olympic Powerlifting team she co-founded and everyone in between. She is a Certified Holistic Health Coach with IIN as well as a Certified pre and post natal certified fitness instructor (JMG Fitness).  When she isn't at FUEL, you will find her spending time with her husband, two kiddos, parents and Australian Shepherd Teddy.

PHIL BEAN Phil has always been active and loves to run, cycle, ski, and paddle board among other pursuits. Teaching at Fuel gives Phil an outlet to share his enthusiasm for a healthy lifestyle with others while helping them motivate, stay positive, train safely, and most importantly have some fun along the way.
