Hat/Mitten Tree For
The Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center
Now-December 20th
We are so excited to have our 2nd mitten tree at Fuel! This idea was inspired by “The Mitten Tree,” a children’s book written by author Candance Christiansen. It tells the story of a little girl who notices one of her classmates does not have mittens at the bus stop one winter day. Worried about her friend, she knits a pair of mittens and leaves them on a nearby tree for him. Every day after, she knits a new pair for other children who need them.
Many of us have several pairs of gloves or mittens but as we are all aware there are many in our community that are going to school or work with cold hands as they are unable to afford mittens. Our goal is to help some families warm up their hands this winter.
We are asking for mitten and hat donations for our studio tree this holiday season. The donations will start now until December 20th. All donations will be given to the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center in Newburyport.
*All sizes welcome!
